Orientation in a new city

How do I orientate myself in a new city?

Consulting and support

The International Offices of the universities of Greifswald, Stralsund and Neubrandenburg are responsible for advising and supporting international students. They provide information on the organisation of studies and on social and cultural institutions in the city. These institutions often offer international evenings and excursions. Here you have the opportunity to get to know other foreign students and make contacts.

Foreign students who come to Germany to study via an international program are welcomed in Greifswald by tutors (other students) after their arrival. They give help with moving into a student residence and are also helpful contact persons in all other questions.

Studienfachwahl und der Studienorganisation

For questions concerning the choice of study subject and the organisation of your studies, you can also get advice from the student advisory offices of the universities of Greifswald, Stralsund and Neubrandenburg.

New in the city?

The first semester days are the solution! In the week before the start of the semester, a programme is organised to get to know the city, the various university facilities (library, computer centre) and the many other freshmen. More information can be obtained from the ASten (General Student Committees) of the universities:
