Loan (Short-term, Hardship)

Short-term loan in a financial emergency

Students who are in a temporary financial emergency can apply for a short-term loan. For this purpose, a loan fund has been set up by the Studierendenwerk Greifswald, from which loans can be granted according to the available funds.

The prerequisite is the existence of a social emergency. This is the case when the livelihood is temporarily not guaranteed. Living expenses include food, accommodation and health care (e.g. health insurance). On the other hand, a social emergency is not assumed if the loan is to be used for study costs that are already foreseeable at the beginning of the study program (e.g. for excursions, internships, etc.).

Further conditions can be found in the guidelines for granting loans. If you have any questions, please contact the social counselling service. Applications are also accepted there. In order to avoid delays in processing the applications, please contact the social counselling service before submitting your application. Together they will clarify which further documents need to be submitted. An allocation committee decides on the approval of your loan application.
