The Studierendenwerk finances itself for the most part (about two thirds) through its own sales revenues and income. The state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania subsidizes the lunches of the students in the refectories and takes over the reimbursement of the expenses for the implementation of the BAföG. But the students also contribute to the financing of the Studierendenwerk with their Studierendenwerk contributions.
