With the KfW student loan, the "KfW-Förderbank" provides a nationwide loan offer for all students. The KfW student loan is intended to help finance the cost of living during studies - regardless of one's own income and that of one's parents.

Students can freely determine the amount of the monthly payment between 100 and 650 €. First or second degree courses can be financed over a maximum of 14 semesters, depending on the age at the time of application. The financing of a master's degree, a supplementary, supplementary or postgraduate course of study as well as a doctorate extends over a maximum of 6 semesters. The total loan period can be arranged flexibly and is a maximum of 33 years and 6 months for a first or second degree course (postgraduate studies are different). The KfW Student Loan can be combined with BAföG or the Education Loan.
No collateral is required for the KfW Student Loan.
You can find the application form in the online credit portal of the KfW-Förderbank at www.kfw.de . Based on your application a contract offer will be prepared online. With the printed application and contract offer you go to a KfW sales partner (credit institution or student union). You will also find a list of sales partners at www.kfw.de.
The sales partner forwards your application to the KfW, which then makes the loan decision.
